Is pedophilia an unforgivable sin?

in my opinion it should be and a pedophile should never be allowed back into the organization.. the children they abuse suffer for the rest of their lives so why should a pedophile have forgiveness and be reinstated?

How do you justify that statement in light of subjective morality that is promoted in modern society?

Now, if your question is in reference to Biblical law, a sin is a sin is a sin, there is actually no sin worse than any other. We are forgiven of sin when we accept the sacrifice of God's son as a propitiation for our sins. We ARE NOT given a 'free ride' regarding the cost of that sin, the punishment meted out by society or by the particular church.
Man is not good and would not even do good without having a God-given conscience or without being called by God.

According to literal scripture, the "sin against the Holy Spirit" is the only unforgivable sin. This is when you are so hardened against God, even knowing that He is truly the authority, that you refuse and even promote the sin of yourself and others. See Romans 1-4 for further clarification.

No Moral Absolutes?

1) I was just wondering how anyone who believes that morality is subjective can actually take a stand against pedophilia?
WHY is it any worse than homosexuality or lesbianism?
WHAT age is considered acceptable? After all, the claim is that "morality is subjective to the norms of society".
The greeks (especially the atheistic intellectuals and philosophers) were enamored with taking young boys under their wings and starting them out with man-boy love. Exposure to this kind of thing eventually resulted in the death of Alexander the Great, who died from syphillis at 28 after having sex with countless men and women.

2) How does one take a stand on teenage (or pre-teen) sexual activity when it is actually none of your business, even as a parent (according to secular organizations like Planned Parenthood, etc., the A.C.L.U.)?

3) How do you feel about the Center for Disease Control lying about the effectiveness of condoms regrading lots of the new STDs? We see very clearly that there is a political agenda to make people believe that sex is generally without risk or GUILT and should that over-ride the results of actual clinical studies, putting all of us at risk? Did you know that there actually was a point in the early 80s where AIDS could have been stopped with a quarrantine but it was not used because of the homosexual political/entertainment/media connections!

4) Should those who are infected be prosecuted if they continue to expose people to STDs even after they are diagnosed? If not, why not?

5) How would you establish a moral/legal guideline any more effective than pre-1960 American norms?

6) Why would you continue to promote illicit sex when it is proven to result in so many problems for society? Abortions, teen preggies, kids raised without parents, delinquency run rampant, welfare subjegating people to the state.

Sex is truly wonderful when practiced in a responsible manner and it does not necessarily have to be along Biblical guidelines to be safe for all involved
Bozos like Big Jim like to post all kinds of questions to Christians, so some questions to all of you 'Bible bashers' should not cause any chagrin.

The C.O. and elder came to my house last night!

please tell me i made the right decision.

last night the co and another elder showed up at our house just 5 minutes after my husband got home from work (i think they were sitting on the side of the road just waiting for him to come home)*stalkers*, anyway to make along story short, the pressure was on.

i felt like they were there to get us to da ourselves.

U go girl! I am so glad that your husband told them off. Don't feel bad that you were unprepared and off-balance. I have advised people to have a "apostate care package" ready for just such an occurance. It consists of photocopied Watchtower material that will allow you to go right after them where it hurts. THEY will be itching to get out the door. BTW, it also would have been wise to tell them, "now is not a good time, please call when you want to visit us". I give that advice to all who are not prepared at that moment.

32) If the Bible is the inerrant word of God, why does it contain so many factual errors, such as the two contradictory accounts of Creation in Genesis?

"Christianity" is NOT any political or religious organization. It is the body of believers who exist at any particular point in time. You are whining about the Catholic Church and the Pope, who were well into total apostasy by then and had turned FROM God, for they were NOT following Biblical teachings.

35) Has anyone ever been killed in the name of atheism?

How many millions have died in the old Soviet Union, China, Cambodia< North Korea and a dozen other countries?
What, Communists are NOT atheists? Is it wrong to blame them as you do all Christians for the actions of false Christians?

36) Why does history show that every time a fundamentalist religion has gained power, tyranny and persecutions have soon followed?

I don't know that it shows that. I also do not consider any religion to be the sole representative of Christ. If they do not behave as Christians then they JUST AREN'T, JIMBO!

How can I relay my thoughts to your last attempt to be cute.

People who have studied JW doctrine demonstrate how it makes no sense in light of the context of scripture. "Belief" and "interpretation" cannot be thrown out as a "catch all" to encompass all views of scripture.
Ros has beliefs that have been clearly demonstrated as NOT-BIBLICAL.
Ros has openly disagreed with the CONTENT of scripture.
Ros backpeddles from scripture that is OBVIOUSLY literal to 99% of Christian researchers.
How much of the Bible can you ignore or twist to suit your own views before you are only claiming to be Christian and do not believe in it's valid teachings? Doesn't the consensus of opinion matter at all?
Why do many Christians do this? I THINK it is because they are afraid to take a stand on ALL SCRIPTURE INSPIRED AND BENEFICIAL FOR TEACHING, REPROVING.....
BTW, I wonder where Maximus is, after all, it was HE who asked me to post this thread?

Hi Simon,
I suppose that if you were 'God', and knew that mankind would fail in a large way then you would not bother to create man in the first place, right Simon?
Or you could have let them die childless? Predestination and free will go hand in hand and I know they are difficult to grasp together.
Your JW skewed view fails to take into account the immortal soul of man, the promise of God's grace that offers freely complete divine forgiveness simply for accepting the sacrifice of His son and believing in the resurrection.
He accepted His role in the fall of man and God came to earth, suffered and died for people like you and me. You've seent eh books that I posted. You owe it to yourself to actually check out what REAL Christianity actually is.
Start with 'Mere Christianity' by C.S. Lewis.
